R&D

Smart smart smart……

Who does not like being smart and using smart devices these days…. We love smartphones, smart devices like Alexa, smart kitchens, and many more smart things. Smart gadgets or devices have changed the world and made everyone’s life easy.

Smart devices help industries to carry out their operations accurately, quickly, and precisely which saves a lot of time and resources. In other words, these smart devices combined are called technology.

In this last article for the series R&D, we would like to discuss the technology or the smart devices which help up to excel in R&D.

P-CAN-

The P-CAN product family is a collection of hardware and software items created by the German business PEAK-System Technik GmbH. A communication protocol known as P-CAN, or “Controller Area Network,” is utilized in a variety of sectors, including the automobile, aerospace, and industrial automation industries.

CAN communication networks are implemented and tested using P-CAN products? They offer software and hardware interfaces that let users connect various devices to a CAN bus and communicate with one another. P-CAN solutions come with USB, PCIe, and Ethernet connections in addition to a variety of software tools for CAN communication analysis and debugging.

RS-485 Dongle

A USB port-equipped computer or other devices can connect to an RS-485 serial communication network via an RS-485 dongle, a small piece of hardware. Popular industrial communication standards like RS-485 are utilized in things like factory automation, process control, and building automation.

A computer or other device can send and receive data by connecting to an RS-485 network using the RS-485 dongle. The dongle converts the data between the two forms so that the RS-485 network and the USB port on the computer can communicate with one another.

Common applications for RS-485 dongles include:

  1. Building Automation: To connect sensors, actuators, and other components in building automation systems, RS-485 networks are frequently utilized. To monitor and manage these devices, a computer can be connected to the network using an RS-485 dongle.
  2. Industrial Automation: RS-485 networks are widely used in industrial machinery and procedures to connect devices together. To link a computer to these networks for monitoring and control, utilize an RS-485 dongle.
  3. Process Control: To link instruments and sensors to control systems in process control applications, RS-485 networks are frequently employed. To connect a computer to these networks for data logging and analysis, utilize an RS-485 dongle.

Overall, RS-485 dongles provide a convenient and cost-effective way to interface between a computer and an RS-485 communication network.
